Accessibility Statement victoriatxdentist.com

Compliance status

We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the broadest possible audience, regardless of ability.

To fulfill this, we aim to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 (WCAG 2.2) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

The site is built with semantic HTML and progressive enhancement so its content and core functions remain available without a separate accessibility overlay. Visitors can use their browser and operating-system settings to enlarge text, zoom, increase contrast, or reduce motion.

Accessibility features

  • A skip link and consistent heading and landmark structure support efficient navigation.
  • Links, buttons, menus, disclosures, carousels, and form controls can be operated with a keyboard.
  • Keyboard focus is clearly visible and is not hidden behind the sticky header.
  • Form fields have programmatic labels, required-field identification, native validation, and announced submission status messages.
  • Informative images have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Content reflows for narrow screens and supports enlarged browser text without requiring horizontal page scrolling.
  • Text and interactive controls use colors selected to meet WCAG AA contrast requirements.
  • Automatically changing content can be paused, testimonial carousels are manually controlled, and reduced-motion preferences are respected.

Keyboard and assistive technology support

Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move through interactive elements, Enter or Space to activate controls, and Escape to close the mobile navigation. Review carousels also support the Left and Right Arrow keys when the carousel has focus. The first keyboard-focusable item on each page is a “Skip to main content” link.

The site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers and assistive technologies, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack, and browser zoom and high-contrast settings. Because assistive-technology and browser combinations vary, we cannot guarantee identical behavior in every possible configuration.

Testing and ongoing improvement

We test the site with automated WCAG checks, keyboard-only navigation, multiple browser engines, narrow-screen reflow, enlarged text, reduced-motion settings, and high-contrast or forced-color settings. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we review new or changed content as the site evolves.

Some pages include third-party services such as Google Maps, YouTube, Birdeye reviews, Cloudflare Turnstile, or external websites. We cannot control every aspect of those services, but we provide accessible names or alternatives where the integration permits and welcome reports of any barrier.

Notes, comments, and feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please email [email protected] or call (361) 573-7722. Please include the page address and a description of the problem. We will make reasonable efforts to provide the information or service in another accessible format and to correct the underlying issue.
